Picture this: you’re soaking up the sunshine with your friends between palm trees, with your toes dipped in silky white sand under a bright blue sky. All while listening to the clear blue ocean’s sounds. You think you are on a tropical beach when you realise… you’ve been in Europe all along!
Here are the most beautiful beaches you can – and should! – visit with your friends on your next Europe trip.
1. Praia da Marinha/Benagil, Algarve, Portugal
One of Portugal’s best-kept secrets, this beach is located on the most southern coast of the country. You can even swim over to this cave when the tide is low. Its neighbouring beaches are highly recommended as well, but they may prove difficult to find. Searching for hidden beaches on the Algarve coast is a fun activity, especially when you find yourself completely alone on one. Get your friends together and enjoy the hunt!
2. Our Lady Beach, Porquerolles, France
Notre Dame beach is reminiscent of a Caribbean holiday, but is located on the French Riviera! It’s surrounded by a pine and eucalyptus forest. The perfect place to kick back relax with your friends.
3. Cala Mariolu, Sardinia, Italy
If you are looking for turquoise waters and very white sand this is the beach for you! Rent a boat with your friends and spend your days floating your worries away!
4. Tangasdale Beach, Scotland
Tangasdale beach is clearly the most northern beach on this list, but we had to include it. You may not get Mediterranean temperatures up there but its natural beauty is undeniable. Who would have thought that Scotland would be such a gorgeous beach destination?
5. Navagio Beach, Zakynthos, Greece
Navagio beach – also called Shipwreck beach – has a real shipwreck on it which makes for quite surreal holiday photos. To get there you will have to take a boat tour, although it will be worth the hassle, trust us.
