There are many reasons why Maui should be on your travel list. It is consistently named one of the world’s most beautiful islands and has amazing beaches, food, natural beauty and incredible wildlife.
The weather is warm all year round and you will always be greeted with a warm “aloha” wherever you go.
So why not make a group trip out of it and visit Maui with your best friends this year? You definitely will not regret it.
1. Go Snorkelling
Snorkelling is an obvious Maui activity, but one we could not leave out. With its beautiful clear and warm waters, Maui’s coast attracts thousands of colourful fish and interesting sea life such as turtles and octopuses!
One of the best places you can go for this activity is aptly named Turtle Town. It hosts a large population of sea turtles thanks to the Endangered Species Act. Alternatively, to see beautiful coral reefs visit Coral Gardens.
If you and your friends are looking to scratch snorkelling off your bucket list, this is definitely the place to do it. You will feel as though you are visiting a whole other world!
2. Relax at the Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm
The Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm is definitely an Insta-worthy spot! With over 55,000 lavender plants which include 45 lavender varieties, this farm overlooks the Pacific ocean and offers amazing views, drinks and food! Their lavender scones are worth the trip, trust us.
You can take a guided walking tour, enjoy a picnic lunch, participate in a treasure hunt or relax under the gazebo. How amazing does that sound?
Additionally, the scent of lavender is known to be very relaxing, so use this opportunity to breathe deep and unwind.
3. Experience Maui’s Dragon Teeth
Just a five minute hike away from the Ritz-Carlton hotel is one of Maui’s most beautiful natural wonders. A combination of ocean wind, molten lava and nature’s force have created teeth-like rock structures. You will feel as though you are standing in a dragon’s mouth, while the waves crash against the “teeth”. It is truly a geological wonder!
In addition to the incredible rock formation, you can also spot sea turtles and whales if you are lucky!
Visit the Molokini Crater
According to an ancient Hawaiian legend, the Molokini crater was once a beautiful woman who was turned to stone by Pele – the fire goddess – as she was jealous because both her and Molokini loved the same man.
Nowadays, the “C” shaped crater is a popular diving and snorkelling spot as it is home to a large coral reef with over two hundred and fifty different species of fish. It is located about three miles from Maui’s most southern coast.
The water around Molokini is incredibly clear as there is very little sediment up to as far down as a hundred and fifty feet! You get the best visibility early in the morning. But getting up early is worth it to get a close look at the unique marine population that the crater has to offer.
Taste the ocean at Hawaii Sea Spirits Organic Farm and Distillery
To finish off your holidays, why not enjoy a couple of drinks with your mates?
At the Hawaii Sea Spirits Organic Farm & Distillery, you can taste organic and sustainably made 80-proof organic and gluten free vodka and rum which are made using deep sea ocean water and distilled sugar cane! The company is sustainable due to its sourcing efforts and their 6000sqft warehouse is solar-powered. Talk about a fancy drink!
