While most people flock to Zakopane for their Polish winter holidays, Bialka Tatrzankska is a much cheaper, much less crowded option.

The resort is very family friendly, and the slopes cater to all skill levels so you don’t have to leave anyone in your group behind. Taste the amazing local food including a nice rum-infused tea and enjoy the beautiful nature around you.

Spindleruv Mlyn is one of the four main ski resorts in the Krknose area. Here you’ll find beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding National Park, which is a UNESCO classified biosphere reserve – not too shabby! If you are looking for a holiday in the middle of beautiful, untouched nature, this is the place for you.

Got kids? No problem, there are plenty of kid friendly areas.

Jasna, Slovakia

Bansko, Bulgaria

Another surprising destination, Bansko is becoming increasingly popular among winter travellers. The town caters to all skill levels and is very beginner friendly, but if you are looking for a thrilling experience you won’t be disappointed either!
After a fun day of skiing, head to Bansko’s infamous bar scene for local drinks and a great atmosphere. Nazdráve!

 

 

Jahorina, Bosnia

Jahorina was the location of the 1984 Winter Olympics, which means its slopes are up to par with international winter sport standards. Perfect if you want to put your skills to the test!
