As a bonus, you’ll get to explore new countries and places that you may have never heard of before. Enjoy cheap hotels, drink and food, all the while you have your best winter holiday ever in a much less crowded location. Can you think of a better way to spend the colder months?

Here are the best budget destinations in Europe for skiing.

Bialka Tatrzanska, Poland

While most people flock to Zakopane for their Polish winter holidays, Bialka Tatrzankska is a much cheaper, much less crowded option.

The resort is very family friendly, and the slopes cater to all skill levels so you don’t have to leave anyone in your group behind. Taste the amazing local food including a nice rum-infused tea and enjoy the beautiful nature around you.

Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic

Spindleruv Mlyn is one of the four main ski resorts in the Krknose area. Here you’ll find beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding National Park, which is a UNESCO classified biosphere reserve – not too shabby! If you are looking for a holiday in the middle of beautiful, untouched nature, this is the place for you.

Got kids? No problem, there are plenty of kid friendly areas.

Looking for a one of a kind wellness experience? Go to the Novosad Brewery and have a beer bath!

Either way, you will love it there.

Jasna, Slovakia

While Slovakia may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think ‘ski resort’, this beautiful country has some amazing ski spots to offer. Not convinced? Jasna’s fluffy snow covered pine trees, fresh air and adventurous slopes are sure to win you over.

Bansko, Bulgaria

Another surprising destination, Bansko is becoming increasingly popular among winter travellers. The town caters to all skill levels and is very beginner friendly, but if you are looking for a thrilling experience you won’t be disappointed either!
After a fun day of skiing, head to Bansko’s infamous bar scene for local drinks and a great atmosphere. Nazdráve!

Jahorina, Bosnia

Jahorina was the location of the 1984 Winter Olympics, which means its slopes are up to par with international winter sport standards. Perfect if you want to put your skills to the test!
