If you thought that all hotels were more or less the same, think again. We’re about to show you the strangest and best hotels you can find throughout Europe where you can spend a night you won’t forget! Are you and your friends brave enough to sleep outdoors, in an igloo or high up in a crane? Let’s find out!
Zero Real Estate Hotel
You’d think that the very definition of hotel means having a roof over your head, but this concept is being redefined by the Zero Real Estate Hotel in Switzerland! The company Toggenburg, who had originally created the Null Stern hotel on the site of an old nuclear bunker, offers “rooms” in the Swiss Alps consisting of a bed but no walls or ceiling. Sleep al fresco and wake up to admire the mountain views while a butler brings you breakfast in bed. Would you book a night in the Zero Real Estate Hotel?
Address: Toggenburg Tourismus, Hauptstrasse 104, 9658 Wildhaus, Switzerland
The Crane Hotel Faralda
Yes, you read that right. The Crane Hotel Faralda is “the most insane and inspiring place to stay” according to them and the rooms are located inside a real crane. The exclusive rooms have breathtaking panoramic views from their large windows and extravagant decor. Who would have thought that cranes could become luxury hotels?
Address: NDSM-Plein 78, 1033 WB Amsterdam, Netherlands
Santorini Windmill Villas
The luxury Greek windmills overlooking the Aegean Sea are not your average hotel stay. You’ll have a stunning view even from your comfortable bed, along with a private jacuzzi, a private pool, garden and parking space. You’ll also have access to massages and a spa. What more could you want from a luxury windmill?
Address: Imerovigli 847 00, Greece
Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel
This Igloo Hotel in Norway is the northernmost ice hotel. It is carved entirely out of ice, including the furniture and beds! Don’t worry about freezing to death though, as they also provide very warm sleeping bags. The hotel is rebuilt each year and taken down before it melts in Spring. Why not pair this trip with a Northern Lights adventure?
Address: Sorrisniva 20, 9518 Alta, Norway
Belle Tout Lighthouse Hotel
The Belle Tout Lighthouse Hotel is located in Eastbourne, UK. The former lighthouse was originally built in 1832 and has been remodelled to become a beautiful bed and breakfast with amazing views over the British seaside. Go for a hike around the famous Seven Sisters and enjoy a nice cold pint at a local pub for a full relaxing experience.
Address: Beachy Head, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN20 0AE
